Uniting and Strengthening the Voice of Collectors and Dealers

Our mission is to promote an Interest, Understanding, Appreciation, & Recognition of American Art Pottery

A Nonprofit Organization Dedicated to Preserving Pottery History

Since its establishment in 1979, the American Art Pottery Association (AAPA) has been a vital nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing people together who share a passion for art pottery. Our members engage in numerous activities throughout the year, including an exciting annual convention, a vibrant show, sale, and the auction of art pottery.

Celebrating American Art Pottery

The AAPA exists to promote interest, understanding, appreciation, and recognition of American art pottery. Through our efforts, we support the history and preservation of classic ceramic works while elevating contemporary potters’ contributions. From rare collector pieces to modern interpretations, we believe art pottery is a vital part of the American decorative arts story. We also advocate for the preservation of architectural ceramics and the documentation of important pottery collections.

Join us in celebrating the beauty and history of American art pottery. Whether you are a seasoned collector or just starting your journey, the AAPA invites you to become part of our vibrant community.

Connect, Learn, and Celebrate

The AAPA hosts an engaging pottery convention at various locations throughout the nation every year. These gatherings feature educational seminars, lively auctions, local tours, and more. It’s not just an event; it’s an experience where members can connect with fellow collectors, share stories, and forge lasting friendships that often endure for decades. The convention is an excellent opportunity to explore remarkable collections and visit pottery-related sites, making it a must-attend for pottery lovers and enthusiasts.
