Sharon Elaine Huxford
Sharon Elaine Huxford, 77, of Covington died at 6:15 P. M. Tuesday January 3, 2017 at home following an extended illness. She was born December 4, 1939 near Kingman the daughter of Dallas Ray and Irene (Kiger) Newnum.
Sharon was a 1957 graduate of Kingman High School and moved to Covington in 1966. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving as pianist, in the choir and assisting with Awana. She was a beauty operator for twenty years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with her husband. They operated Huxford Enterprises for many years, authoring and publishing books on antiques.
Sharon married Bobby Joe Huxford at Covington on August 5, 1966 and he died January 18, 2013. Surviving is a daughter Marka Rae Woolwine of Covington, a son Steven Wayne (Jill “Sare”) Drollinger of Hillsboro; a brother Gary Wayne (Donna) Newnum of Covington, a sister Betty Evans of Crawfordsville; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, son Michael Ray Drollinger, and a sister Norma Jean Voorhees preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 12:00 P. M. until time of services at 2:00 P. M. Saturday January 7, 2017at First Baptist Church. Pastor Andy Harkleroad will officiate. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery.
