DOROTHY R. DANIEL
On Friday, 8 February 2013, Dorothy passed away peacefully at hospice’s Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, Arlington, Virginia. Her husband, Howard, died in 2004. She is survived by cousins and by dear friends who are equally important to her. Born near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dorothy lived in Arlington for 75 years, and at the family home for 47 years. She is a past president of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Antiques Association. She participated in the Arlington County Public Library “Arlington’s Story” project, contributing her collection of local postcards to the library’s digital archive on the town’s history.
Dorothy was also a long time collector/dealer of American art pottery, and a dear friend to many in the pottery world. She worked hard to make our many conventions in the Arlington, Virginia/Washington, D. C. a success. She is pictured here attending the AAPA convention in Philadelphia in 2008.
